The simple Imperial Hotel occupies a white rendered building at the end of a Victorian terrace just over a mile from Manchester city centre, 500 metres' walk from the University. Simple, wooden furniture and light decor with warm coloured fabrics characterise the 27 guestrooms, all of which offer central heating, work desks, bottle water and tea and coffee making facilities, televisions and private bathrooms.

There is a frequent train service between the airport and Manchester Piccadilly Station in the city centre, from where the 43A bus runs to the vicinity of the hotel. Taxis are available outside the Arrivals hall of each terminal. Expect the fare to cost around 15 UKP.
